Each time,about 50%
of the Town's residents receive the message. The clinics have been filling up in about 20-40
minutes. The amount of vaccine has been increasing from 900 to 1200 doses per clinic. Last week
and this coming week, a clinic has/will be held at the Fairgrounds. The Fire Department has also assisted the Community Health
Center with immunizing the homebound. The program is working very well. There is a chance
that the CHC will be able to get more vaccine and we are working with them to see how best to
distribute that to the eligible groups.
The Assistant Health Agent put together a task for the Medical Reserve Corps..of 10-12 volunteers
who have called about 1600 residents on the vulnerable list and those over 65 to determine who
still needs to be vaccinated. The far majority of the seniors have been done, but when we have a
list of those who still need to schedule an appointment, we will forward that list to Cape Cod
Healthcare, Harbor Community Health Center and the Community Health Center, so they can
reach out directly to those people.
Chair Baumgaertel commented that the Cape has done a really good job rolling out the vaccine in
the absence of state assistance, and it's reflected in our vaccination rates, which are the highest
4
