The following questions were asked of Ms. Patel by Mr. Virgilio: • Have you ever served on or participated on any Board/Committee? Ms. Patel answered that she had never served on an official committee before; however, while as an undergrad at Wass,she was part of the Student Program and Council Board,which gave her some experience with the meeting protocols. • Do you fully understand the commitment so that we have a quorum Ms. Patel answered that she is available to make the commitment. Her work at the school is done during the day only. Chair Baumgaertel commented that, if a member does have to miss a meeting, it can lead to a lack of quorum which can delay approvals of important matters. He suggested that Ms. Patel focus on-familiarizing herself with Title V and our local regulations governing septic systems. He also suggested she watch some of the other Town board meetings. Finally, he noted that it would be very beneficial if Ms. Patel could make a long-term commitment,as consistency of membership helps the Board to function well. There being no further comments or discussion,Ernest Virgilio moved to recommend to the Board of Selectman that they appoint Kripani Patel as a member of the Board of Health. Motion seconded by Brian Baumgaertel. Roll call vote: Ernest Virgilio (yes); Brian Baumgaertel (yes). VOTE: Unanimous 2-0). EXECUTIVE SESSION For the record, Mr. Harrington stated that no Executive Session was needed. NEXT MEETING The next meeting of the Board of Health was scheduled for Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 7:00 PM. There being no further business, Ernest Virgilio moved to adjourn the public session meeting of the Board of Health at 8:15 PM. Motion seconded by Brian Baumgaertel.
