Mashpee Economic Development Industrial Corporation (EDIC) <br /> Minutes — January 28, 2020 <br /> 6:00 PM <br /> Popponesset Meeting Room <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Carol Sherman, Pamela McCarthy, Patrice Pimental, Robyn Simmons, Glenn <br /> Thompson <br /> Guest: Joe Callahan <br /> Absent: Denise Duston <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Carol Sherman opened the meeting at 6.00 p.m. <br /> 2. Approval of the minutes: <br /> • June 25, 2019-Robyn Simmons moved to approve, Pamela McCarthy seconded. The <br /> committee voted to approve. <br /> • July 30, 2019-Pamela McCarthy moved to approve, Robyn Simmons seconded. The <br /> committee voted to approve. <br /> • September 24, 2019-Pamela McCarthy moved to approve, Glenn Thompson seconded. <br /> The committee voted to approve. <br /> • November 26, 2019 Pamela McCarthy moved to approve, Glenn Thompson seconded. <br /> The committee voted to approve. <br /> 3. Treasurer's report <br /> The EDIC's money market account has a current balance of$304,358.62. The checking <br /> account has $27,804.48. <br /> 4. Old Business <br /> EDIC Survey for Business-this will be out by February 25 and have it back by April 1, with a job fair by <br /> school vacation week. <br /> Carol Sherman said that at the feedback she got from business owners at a chamber event was that <br /> they had trouble retaining employees due to the lack of affordable housing. In the ensuing discussion, <br /> she said she would approach Evan Lehrer, the town planner, about the feasibility of putting apartments <br /> above the bays in the industrial park, as it would provide housing for the employees of local businesses <br /> such as landscapers. <br /> 5. New Business <br />
