Town report-the committee read over the draft of the EDIC letter for the Town Report Pamela McCarthy
wrote. Patrice Pimental moved it be approved, Robyn Simmons seconded. The committee approved
the letter.

108 Commercial Street-Carol updated the committee on the January 21, 2010 Board of Selectmen's
meeting and shared a memo the town planner submitted to the Board. 108 Commercial Street, which is
directly across from the Community Health Center of Cape Cod, has drawn some interest from a couple
of businesses. Evan Lehrer outlined three different ways to proceed (mixed use, subdivision between
commercial and residential, single use). The town manager will form a working group to asses the
options for the property and bring a recommendation to the Board.

Mass Bankers Financial College-Patrice Pimental is taking courses through the Mass Bankers
Financial College at Babson for work. She talked about what she learned, and how it ties into her
committee work and her work in the Chamber of Commerce. She said that in addition to supporting
small local businesses, we need to think bigger and bring in more technology, medical, and other
companies that have high-paying jobs with longevity. She also talked about the need for housing
diversity, and how a lack of that makes it difficult for employers to retain employees. If a retiree cannot
get a mortgage after selling their home, they will be less likely to sell it and thus a young family will be
unable to buy it.

Economic development section of Mashpee's comprehensive plan-the town is starting another
comprehensive plan. The last one was twenty years ago. The EDIC will need to work on its section and
will likely need to contribute some money towards paying a firm to do the in-depth research the report
will require. The entire plan will probably take two to three years.

Communications and Correspondence:

Carol Sherman asked that the directors and officers insurance coverage be added to the agenda.
Pamela McCarthy moved it be added, Patrice Pimental seconded, and the board approved it be added
to the agenda. Carol Sherman said the premium for the directors' and officers' insurance for the year is
$1,359 and is due on 2/21/2020. Pamela McCarthy moved the committee approve the payment; Patrice
Pimental seconded the motion. The committee approved the payment.

Next meeting:

Tuesday February 25, 2020 at 6:00 PM.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:40.
Respectfully submitted by Pamela McCarthy
