5. New Business

As a result of the last EDIC meeting, Denise Duston had the idea to survey employers in
Mashpee about the skills they are looking for in their employees. If those skills are not
available in the community, provide some training (possibly through SCORE) and then offer a
job fair. Other questions to ask in the survey would be: how many jobs are open in Mashpee?
What kind of jobs are they (full time, part time, seasonal, skilled, etc.)? How does housing
affect the job market? What is affordable rent for someone who works at one of these jobs?

Denise will email a survey for the committee members' comments and thoughts with the goal
of having a draft of the survey by next meeting.

Next meeting:

Denise is out of town at the end of August, the committee agreed to meet a week early, on
Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 6:00PM.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:55.
To dos:
• Glenn to ask Evan about who does RFI's/RFP's.
• Invite Evan to come to next EDIC meeting to show members how to use Open Counter
• Get draft of survey ready for next meeting; Denise to send out a rough draft for our
comments by email prior to this.

Respectfully submitted by Pamela McCarthy
