Mashpee Economic Development Industrial Corporation (EDIC) <br /> Minutes — September 24, 2019 <br /> 6:00 PM <br /> Popponesset Meeting Room <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Denise Dutson, Pamela McCarthy, Patrice Pimental, Robyn Simmons, Glenn <br /> Thompson, Carol Sherman <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Carol Sherman opened the meeting at 6.05 p.m. <br /> 2. Approval of the minutes <br /> Denise Dutton moved the committee approve the minutes. It was seconded by Robyn <br /> Simmons and approved. <br /> 3. Treasurer's report <br /> The EDIC has total assets of$382,403.50, with $50,596 in the CD, $27,804 in checking, and <br /> $304,002 in a money market account. <br /> 4. Old Business <br /> The committee did not have old business to discuss. <br /> 5. New Business <br /> The committee read over survey questions that were submitted by members since the last <br /> meeting, and after discussion and offering suggestions for changes, agreed on the following: <br /> • What industry are you in? <br /> • What demographic tends to work for your business (students, retirees, foreign workers, <br /> etc.) <br /> • How many people do you employ during the summer months? Off season? <br /> • What qualifications are you looking for? <br /> • Is it difficult finding employees with these qualifications? <br /> • What soft skills are you looking for? <br /> • What shifts do you need to fill (daytime, evening, overnight, early morning, etc.). <br /> • Are you looking for full time or part time employees? Does this change when the tourist <br /> season is over, and if so how? <br /> • How many full-time employees do you have? How many part-time employees do you <br /> have? <br /> • Was it difficult to find employees over the past six months? If so, why? <br /> • How did you advertise for employees (newspaper, social media, etc.) <br />
