,T vi (Y- Arlashpee
n
arxasKu'.a )"hislipec, 0)`049
Meeting Minutes
Design Review Committee
Tuesday, August 17, 2021
Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room
Design Review Committee Members Present: Dave Morris, Jonathan
Furbush, Joe Callahan, Tyler Gaudreau.
Dave called the meeting to order at 8:30 am.
NEW HEARINGS
8:30 am Project Address: 11 Commercial St.
Business Name: DPF Mashpee, LLC c/o Charter Realty
Dev't. Group
Owner/Agent: Karen Johnson, Charter Realty
Architect/Engineer: Matthew Eddy, Baxter Nye Engineering
Request: One proposed additional building with two retail units
totaling 4,860 sq. ft.
Matt Eddy represented the applicant for the proposed 4,860 sq. ft. building
that will be the location for Sherman Williams Paints, and a retail store. The
lot is situated in the C-1 Zoning District located on the corner of South and
Charles Streets, and is part of the master plan under the existing special
permit that was issued back in 2001. The proposed building is within the size
allowed under the South Cape Village special permit. The parking lot design
is existing, but there will be some minor changes to accommodate the allowed
number of spaces. The loading dock and dumpster are located on South St.
and will be well screened with arborvitae type landscaping.
A representative with Phase Zero Design provided a schematic plan of the
building depicting the traditional Cape Cod style design. The plan shows the
lattice and screening that faces Charles St.
Jonathan asked about the color scheme and lighting. There will be two
different shades of gray.
Tyler suggested climbing hydrangea in place of the Japanese wisteria, and
recommended that the bed in the parking lot to have any sort of low planting,
as to not obstruct the view into the loading zone.
i
