Minutes Mashpee Waterways Commission Mashpee Town Hall 16 Great Neck Road North Mashpee, MA 02649 Date: 9/14/2021 Minutes: Chairman Ken Bates convened the meeting at 9:00am in the Waquoit Meeting Room Attendees: Ken Bates, Don MacDonald, Tim Leedham, Dick Noonan. Also present: Jeff Smith Absent: Steve Mone, Gregg Fraser, All Wickel Minutes: The Following minutes were approved: The regular session of Tuesday August 10, 2021 Motion to Approve was made by Don McDonald and seconded by Tim Leedham with the minor correction to the minutes noting that Don MacDonald was both present and absent. Don was present and the correction was made, striking out the notation under absent, initialed by Dick Noonan and the Motion was unanimously approved by all those present. Appointments &Information Sessions: Jeff reported that the Ockway Bay ramp replacement project looks to be straight forward. There are no navigational issues seen. The project will commence once Chapter 90 approval is received. Communications &Correspondence: Dick Noonan reported that 5 applications for waterfront projects were received: - 664 Great Neck Rd South: Remove old pier and reconstruct new pier and ramp - 38 Quail Hollow Rd: Install seasonal pier - 140 Popponesset Island Rd: Remove old pier and construct new pier, ramp and float - 43 Little Neck Lane: remove old pier and install a new pier NLl 1 11 Traffrail Way: Repair existing sea wall j e�r reported that he had reviewed all submitted packages and found no issues relative to navigation. Dick Noonan reported that he had received email correspondence from a resident relative to dredging needs at the entrance to Hamblin Pond. He and Ken will review and draft a response. Old Business: Harbormaster Report: Jeff reported that August was a good month. No navigational issues to deal with. He has updated the Harbormaster's web site with dredging information that has been provided by the County. Jeff noted that the information is very useful'. All winter sticks are now in house and they will begin prepping them for deployment at the end of season. There will be red and green sticks for all buoys. The office is also getting quotes for buoy replacement commencing in the spring. Included will also be the buoys required for the new "No Wake" buoys and the "No Swim" zone for Mashpee/Wakeby Lake. Jeff noted that all buoys and chain are currently on back order. This is the last year of their 3 year replacement plan.
