Lastly, the State is repainting the parking lot at Mashpee/Wakeby and the ramp was closed <br /> during the work. <br /> DNR Director/Shellfish Constable Report: No report <br /> Committee Reports: <br /> Mashpee/Wakeby and John's Pond and fresh waters: It was reported that the Harbormaster <br /> has found access to a private dock for the patrol boat. A request was made by the Association <br /> to the Town for a ramp attendant. Jeff expressed concern about this citing the manpower <br /> required and the potential impact relative to on the water requirements. <br /> It was reported that there is a request on the Town Warrant for a study on bacteria concerns, <br /> issues and possible remediation steps. <br /> Popponesset Bay Area: Plans are back for the new facility with some slight modifications <br /> requested. Once the plans are modified they will go to the Town Manager for approval. <br /> Waquoit Bay Area: No report <br /> Water Quality: Don MacDonald reported that testing went well on all four dates. Also, the <br /> presentation on last year's results took place for the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Barnstable County Coastal Resources: No Report <br /> Barnstable County Dredging: Ken reported that plans have gone out for the "Inner Channel" <br /> of Popponesset Bay. As of 9/13/21 the Codfish 11 was in Fairhaven for maintenance and is not <br /> yet on site. Following the completion of the Inner Channel dredge, the "1916 Channel" will be <br /> dredged. The plans for the later are in progress. <br /> Sewer Commission: No report <br /> Public Access: Jeff reported, following a meeting with Catherine Laurent, that a new guardrail <br /> will be installed on the Causeway to Seconset Island. All boat owners will be notified that they <br /> must remove all dinghies for this to be done. If they do not the DPW will remove. Jeff also <br /> reported that the area will have a facility for tying up dinghies next season rather than using the <br /> guardrail. The Town will charge a fee and provide stickers. It is believed that this should <br /> improved the entire area considerably. <br /> Waterways Improvement Plans: <br /> LG/GR Expansion Project: Dick Noonan reported that we have been verbally advised by the <br /> State that the project will require MEPA review. We will now plan to proceed with a MEPA ENF <br /> Application. We were hoping to avoid this step but it appears that wont be possible. The initial <br /> step in the process will be to file an NOI with Mashpee Conservation. The goal is to have that <br /> done by the end of October. Once we have that step completed we will begin the formal ENF <br /> or MEPA. <br />
