[Agenda topic 3]Cyanobacteria Testing <br /> Discussion: Ashley Fisher was unable to attend the meeting but she reported that Cyanobacteria testing <br /> has continued and levels in Mashpee Wakeby remain very low, in fact the lowest in all Mashpee Ponds. <br /> Conclusions: Cyanobacteria levels remain low. <br /> [Agenda topic 4] Save Mashpee Wakeby Pond <br /> Alliance <br /> Discussion: We welcomed three members of the group Save Mashpee Wakeby Pond Alliance who <br /> reported their swim a success. Six people swam the whole distance from Attaquin Beach to Ryder <br /> Conservation area and approximately 50 people joined the picnic afterwards. <br /> Conclusions: The group felt the event was successful at raining awareness to protect the lake. <br /> [Agenda topic S] Mashpee Wakeby Lake Study <br /> Discussion: Town Meeting will be held October 18"' under the tent at Mashpee Middle School at 6PM. <br /> Submitted by the Natural Resources Dept., Article 16 is important to the health of Mashpee Wakeby <br /> Pond. "To see if the Town will appropriate and transfer the sum of$350,000 from revenue available to <br /> fund a diagnostic study of MW Pond or take any other action therto." Members voted 5-0 in favor of the <br /> study and plan for Mike and Don to speak at Town meeting for the committee in favor. <br /> Conclusions: MW Lake Management Committee plans support of article 16.. <br /> {Agenda topic 61 Phase Two Sewering/Nitrogen <br /> Plan <br /> Discussion: The plan is to amend the name of town's Nitrogen Plan to the Clean Waters Plan to support <br /> both the estuaries and the ponds. Mashpee Wakeby Lake area has now been moved up to Phase 2 of the <br /> sewer plan. Mashpee plans to work in tandem with Sandwich to include all areas around both lakes. The <br /> hope is to apply for funding next fall. Mike explained the plan as he now is on the sewer commission. <br /> Conclusions: The Town plans to move the area around the lakes up to an earlier phase in the sewering <br /> plan. <br /> {Agenda topic 71 MWLMC 2021-2022 Officers <br /> Discussion: Debi McManus will continue to serve as Chair and Paul Bibo will step in as Vice Chair, <br /> Barbara Nichols will continue to serve as Secretary. <br /> Conclusions: Officers have been voted in. <br />
