M Board of Selectmen Minutes October 4, 2021 Discussion of Pickleball Courts: (continued) Discussion followed with respect to the high -cost estimates for this project when the Town at this time is moving forward with its Clean Water Plan. It was noted that a community/recreation center would be advantageous for the Town with funding to be recouped from the sale of the Kids Klub building. It was suggested this objective be further refined with concepts and cost estimates for sound control including an air supported dome structure and/or open-air roof with a solar array to suppress noise levels to include review of residential support and traffic projections. Town Manager Rodney C. Collins expressed concern with respect to the expenditure of monies that could be devoted to the enormity of wastewater challenges. Discussion and Approval of Appointments of the Following to the Sewer Commission: Alfred R. Towle from Member -at -Large to Precinct 1 (Term Expires June 30, 2024) Michael Rapacz from Precinct 3 to Member -at -Large Term Expires June 30, 2023) Meredith H. Harris Precinct 3 (Term Expires June 30, 2024) Deborah Vaughn Precinct 4 (Term Expires June 30, 2022): Letters of interest have been received from Meredith H. Harris and Deborah Vaughn to serve on the Sewer Commission. Supplemental communication was received from Mike Rapacz dated October 4, 2021 indicating the Sewer Commission voted unanimously at their last meeting to recommend the appointments. Current members include Michael Rapacz and Alfred Towle. Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to appoint the following members to the Sewer Commission for terms as defined; Alfred R. Towle from Member -at -Large to Precinct 1(Term Expires June 30, 2024) Michael Rapacz from Precinct 3 to Member -at -Large (Term Expires June 30, 2023) Meredith H. Harris Precinct 3 (Term Expires June 30, 2024) Deborah Vaughn Precinct 4 (Term Expires June 30, 2022) Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. Roll Call Vote: Selectman Sherman, yes Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Gottlieb, yes Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Opposed, none *Due to the importance of the Sewer Commission, it was recommended that all meetings be televised. The Sewer Commission meets every other Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Meetings are open to the public.
