t
-3-
Ava said that we should plan our Open House earlier. We should express ideas earlier
for a theme for the event, and keep the Open House on Indigenous Peoples' Day so
people become familiar with that date and plan to come. Richard felt that it is important
to have a different theme each year. Rosemary felt that the recognition of Ann
Tanneyhill was excellent because not everyone was aware of her accomplishments.
Richard felt that we should contact the Tribe and perhaps get mentioned in their
Newsletter. Richard said we should get the notice of our event into the Cape Cod
Times and the Mashpee Enterprise. Richard got the information into the Mashpee
Messenger. Ava suggested that we perhaps could put posters in the Library and other
locations around town. We are thinking about dates in the spring of 2022; however, we
are still considering doing them at the Open House on Indigenous People's Day. Brian
Weeden volunteered to have the presentation event at the Wampanoag Government
Center.
Winter Agenda
Ava feels that we could have meetings but not as frequently. Richard and Brian
Weeden would like to continue as well. In November we will be meeting with the
dendrochronologist, but we plan to have an MHC meeting in December 2021.
Lakewood Cemetery
Richard would like to submit a proposal to CPC to renovate the Lakewood Cemetery.
He would like to hire a landscaper to figure out how to make it look more attractive, but
the DPW would have the responsibility to maintain it afterwards. Also, there are
