1 <br /> MASHPEE COMMUNITY GARDEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MCGAC) <br /> MEETING MINUTES j <br /> March 17,2021 7:00 P.M. <br /> *VirtualJRemote Meeting* i <br /> Public Call In for Comments (646)558-8656 <br /> Meeting ID 873 7190 5754 and Passcode 926847 <br /> i <br /> r <br /> PRESENT: Frank Gallello,Virginia Scharfenberg, Mohamad Fand, Bill Nay <br /> f <br /> CALL TO ORDER Chairwoman Scharfenberg called the meeting to order at 7:17pm. <br /> Meeting Minutes of February 17, 2021 <br /> Motion: Mr. Nay moved to approve the 2/17/21 minutes, Mr. Gallello seconded. <br /> Vote: 4-0 unanimous <br /> COMMUNICATIONS and CORRESPONDENCE <br /> REPORTS <br /> • 2021 garden season sign-ups and Wait List to date-Virginia Scharfenberg <br /> All 2020 gardeners renewed their beds for 2021. Those on the waitlist who submitted <br /> payment for 2021 will be refunded. <br /> • Compost bins construction update—Frank Gallello <br /> Mr. Gallello suggested we build a roof for each compost bin, and make sure it is made out of a <br /> sturdy, lightweight material that can be strapped down. He will coordinate the building of the <br /> roof with Rick Harris. <br /> • Black Earth Compost in Mashpee—Virginia <br /> Black Earth Compost offers a town-wide service for residents. There is a possibility we could <br /> apply for a grant from DPW to help fund. Mike Richardson is already speaking with Black Earth <br /> about setting up the service in New Seabury. The more people who subscribe to the service, <br /> the less it costs. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> • Bylaws update for Board of Selectmen review&approval—Virginia <br /> Ms. Scharfenberg asked for approval to submit the revised bylaws to the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Motion: Mr. Nay moved to send the changes to the bylaws to the Board of Selectmen, Mr. <br /> Gallello seconded. <br /> Vote:4-0 unanimous <br /> 1 <br />
