Mr. <br /> Irnai stated that the '' • ��applicant would like to take advantage of the height,grade change,to <br /> make accessibility to the second floor easier. He stated that the measurement of the <br /> height of the building is actually within the Zoning By-law requirements. Mr.Imai said , * <br /> that the elevation of the building looks higher than the other buildings because of the ' <br /> .I <br /> four-foot grade increase on the side of the Post Office kin ar lot <br /> parking <br /> Mr. Imai stated that the eave heights are within the Zoning By-law requirements. He also <br /> stated that anything that cannot be reached by the fire ladder is just empty space. Mr. , .' J <br /> Imai stated that the height is not any different from the church steeple or a cupola on a ' e <br /> building. He also stated g that the proposed height of the building will be 39.7 feet. <br /> Mr. Imai said the applicant pp proposes poses to change North Street by putting Buildings 26,27 I4� <br /> and 28 that will actually form the walls of that street. He said that the applicant is , <br /> making a real conscious effort to make the streets more aesthetically pleasing and more <br /> appealing for use by pedestrians. <br /> Mr.Regan questioned the average elevation of the buildings in Mashpee Commons, Mr. <br /> Imai stated that it is 37.7 feet. <br /> Mr.Regan expressed concern that the Fire Department has not replied to the memo from <br /> the Board asking for comments on the application. y '` <br /> Mr. Renz submitted a revised chart and a revised stamped engineering plan. He stated r . <br /> that the wastewater capacity is 80,000 galllons per day,well below the calculated daily "y <br /> figures. A <br /> Mr. Guerrera commented that the proposed design of the building seems to deviate from <br /> the "Mashpee Village"type style to a more cosmopolitan style building. <br /> Mr. Renz answered that the applicant received similarcriticism �pp when developing the �. 41 •1,,i <br /> building that now houses Talbot s. He stated that the intention is not to duplicate the ,, W}, <br /> look of Popponesset Marketplace, but the intention is for the building to look appropriate .,P., <br /> for a downtown mercantile area. The reason for two-story buildings is to hide any Jot <br /> � <br /> air-conditioning units and to look more appealing than one-story buildings. �,• `' <br /> Mr. Imai stated that the proposed design of the building will give a feeling of several ' <br /> different storefronts. The building material will be different and the merchants have been ; <br /> requested to add several doors and make the entry ways out of glass in order to make a <br /> ,a t <br /> Y� <br /> large building look smaller.
