Atanian noted that the loon would be ideal for a dog park because it would be so close to the <br /> center of town. his. Atanian spoke with Barbara Cotton and the garden club about organi ing <br /> meeting in order to work cotlabo vely toward am&g an all-encompassing recreationaJ area. <br /> Mr. B l arini recommended asking for everything possible. Where was discussion about the <br /> various features of the park including a splash pad, farmer's market, trails, Frisbee golf and <br /> access to electricity, to name a.few. Scott Lajoie inquired about availability of parking and Mr. <br /> Bal artni and Mr. K oharian emphasized the availability of parking at 1 lashpee Commons and <br /> the benefit of integrating recreation,.residential and commercial offerings. Nor. L joie inquired <br /> about a safe access to Trout Pond across the rotary- Mr. Bal arini reported that-it would be <br /> discussed with Mashpee Commons. <br /> In reference to walking the parcel, flrl.r. Petersen inquired about the property line and Mr. Fudala <br /> stated that Diver Road served as the property line. fir. Peter planned to look further into <br /> funding availability for repair work in the area and Air. Fudala suggested that he speak with the <br /> _ Conservation Agent. Nor. Kooharian added that the Stye may also have ids available for <br /> establishing parrs and 11r_ Fudala confirmed that there were pros available that provided <br /> funding for public facilities. The Chair added that Community Preservation Funds would also be <br /> available. Mr. Petersen recommended encoring that there was support from abutters to ensure <br /> access to funds. <br /> Mr. Fudala noted that the Board of-Selectmen had provided a location for the dog park and had <br /> expressed concern that the Planning Board was considering an.-alternative location. The Chair <br /> responded that the Planning Board was a public body, allowing discussion of'topics, before <br /> formalizing final decisions. <br /> There was discussion regarding meeting w'th the Board of Selectmen about Mashpee Green <br /> Parks and it was decided that Selectman Tom O'Hara would be invited to attend a future-meet's ng <br /> to discuss it further, once materials had. e n prepared. More information, such as a preliminary <br /> sketch will be drafted. The Char noted that the Conservation Commission and the <br /> Environmental oversight Committee may also be interested in the discussion, and Mr. Balzanm <br /> added that the M shpee Environmental Coalition should also be informed about plans. <br /> Regard i rig support of the effbM it was suggested that-stu d ent. be involved. W. <br /> Balzarini will contact Mr. O'Hara about attending a future meeting. <br /> STREET NAME PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> 7:10 Request from Fawn Clem and residents to rename a portion of Great River <br /> Road, lying between Russell road and the northern property line of the <br /> parcel shown on the Mashpee Assessors' Map'w Map 120,Bloch 73, to <br /> become"River's Edge.Road."Continued from May 2 2012 <br /> Mr. Fudala reported that a request to confinue the hearing was received because the Addressing <br /> Committee objected to Diver's Edge Road due to the number of streets already containing the <br /> word"Diver" in it. An additional Addressing Committee meeting will be held on N y 21 to <br /> discuss alternative names. The Chair opened the 7:1 o public hearing. There was no public <br /> comment. <br /> 2 <br />
