On Tuesday, August
24 to the Planning Board and Cape Cod Commission Staff met
for the required pre-application process. Because many of
our issues cross town boundaries, we invited town planners
from our neighboring towns . Planners from Falmouth,
Sandwich, and Barnstable joined us for this meeting. The
DCPC is a planning tool that can help us dead with
important town issues related to traffic, land use, growth
management, and other important issues.. Mashpee has a
Local Comprehensive Plan which was completed in 1998, but
while some goals and objectives in that plan are underway
r complete, many others are not . It is in some ways a
outdated plan that does not adequately reflect our current
situation. We hope that you picked up a copy of the
handout prepared for you this evening with some description
of the DCPC/progression. I would call your attention to
the very last paragraph., which provides the Planning
Department e-mail address and website where additional
information is provided and will continue to be provided
throughout the process .
