The goal of tonight' s meeting is to gather information <br /> for preparation of a DCPC nomination form. The DCPC area <br /> has to be determined, as well a-s the purposes for the <br /> nomination. The Planning Board and the Board of Selectmen <br /> welcome citizen input in order to make the best choices for <br /> the future of the Town. The purpose of this meeting is to <br /> listen to the community of Mashpee citizens. <br /> John Cahalane, Chairman, .Board of Selectmen, spoke on <br /> behalf of the Selectmen, thanking everyone for attending <br /> the meeting. He assured the citizens that their input will <br /> be greatly appreciated and that evert consideration will be <br /> given to their concerns . He also explained that Selectman <br /> arsters has stepped down from all DCPC discussion, due to <br /> profess-ional reasons. <br /> s . Kane then introduced the Recording Secretary, as <br /> well a°s the volunteer timekeeper. <br /> Public Comment - i ashpee Citizens <br /> . Kane opened- the floor to public comment, <br /> explaining there are two microphones set up, -one to 'be used <br /> by speakers in favior of a DCPC, and the other to be used by <br /> speakers in opposition. <br /> John Dinara - Asked for clarification as to when other <br /> public meetings would be conducted. <br /> s. Kane responded them would be -additional hearings <br /> throughout the process. She suggested citizens read the <br /> handout, and clarified the September 15 th- deadl-ine is for <br /> comments on the nomination form- only (not the process) . <br /> Focus Areas - What are the current problems that <br /> concern you the. most' That would you life to see done <br /> about them What do you think Mashpee should look life in <br /> the futures What classes or types of proposed development <br /> should be allowed to continue during the consideration of <br /> the DCPC nomination? <br /> Eleanor Glennor, 16 Red Cedar Road - Expressed concern <br /> regarding traffic at the rotary, noting how difficult it is <br /> to a-cress Great Neck load south from Windchime Point. Her <br /> concern being with proposed future traffic generated by the <br /> Boch Center and proposed new supermarket . <br /> 3 <br />
