The Chairman suggested the Planning Staff investigate <br /> Further to determine whether or not the Town of Barnstable <br /> has adopted said ]bylaw in the form before the Board this <br /> earning, or whether it has -been amended a-ndor adopted into <br /> regulation. <br /> Planning staff will provide draft copies for Planning <br /> Board review/comment prior to the Tune 20th -meeting, at <br /> which time the Board will be prepared to vote and sign the <br /> document . <br /> Discussion Item <br /> Sign Bylaw Amendment <br /> The Town Planner made reference to a document <br /> entitled, "Potential Sign and Plan Review/Design Review <br /> Bylaw Amendments for October 27 Annual Town Meeting, <br /> 47 Draft". <br /> C. Compliance Required - Amend language to include: <br /> "...only identify the occupancy of such premises or <br /> advertise the articles a-nd -services available <br /> within said peiie ". <br /> D. Alterations - It was determined changes in the <br /> text of a sign does not require Design Review <br /> Committee ,approval. <br /> F. Dimensional Measurement of Signage - 1, 2, and <br /> addresses the. approriate calculations for the <br /> measurement of free standing signs. <br /> B. Prohibitions - Illumin-ated Signs, this language <br /> expressly prohibits "internally lit" signs in an <br /> attempt to assist the enforcement office-r in the <br /> event of a violation. <br /> F. Independent stand signs advertising products are <br /> not permitted. Thomas O' Hara explained this <br /> language refers to the portable small signs that <br /> some businesses place off site on the weekends t <br /> advertise their businessestproducts . <br /> C.
