Leach Assessor's Map 27 Parcel 122 Leach Animal Hospital Certificate of Title: 162914 482 Main Street Land Court Lot#22 Mashpee, MA 02649 Plan#27901-F A Petition was filed on April 5, 2011 by Jonathan H. Leach, Trustee, for a Special Permit under Section 174-51.B of the Zoning By-laws for permission to install a new sign exceeding twenty square feet on property located in an R-5 zoning district at 482 Main Street- Leach Animal Hospital - (Map 27 Parcel 122) Mashpee, MA. Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on April 8, and April 15, 2011 a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. Public Hearings were held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on April 27, 2011. The following members of the Board were present and acting throughout: Board Members Robert G. Nelson, Jonathan D. Furbush, William A. Blaisdell and James Reiffarth. The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals issues this Decision pursuant to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A §9 and the Town of Mashpee Zoning By-laws. Dr. Leach represented his Petition and said that he would like to install a wooden carved figure on top of the proposed sign. It will exceed the 20-square foot size allowed in the By-law. The entire sign will be carved out of wood. Mr. Nelson said that the members of the Design Review Committee were very impressed with the proposal and agreed that the sign will be decorative and attractive. No comments were received from abutters.
