Leach Assessor's Map 27 Parcel 122 <br /> Leach Animal Hospital Certificate of Title: 162914 <br /> 482 Main Street Land Court Lot#22 <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 Plan#27901-F <br /> A Petition was filed on April 5, 2011 by Jonathan H. Leach, Trustee, for a Special <br /> Permit under Section 174-51.B of the Zoning By-laws for permission to install a new <br /> sign exceeding twenty square feet on property located in an R-5 zoning district at 482 <br /> Main Street- Leach Animal Hospital - (Map 27 Parcel 122) Mashpee, MA. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General <br /> Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a <br /> newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on April 8, and April 15, 2011 <br /> a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> Public Hearings were held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on April 27, <br /> 2011. The following members of the Board were present and acting throughout: Board <br /> Members Robert G. Nelson, Jonathan D. Furbush, William A. Blaisdell and James <br /> Reiffarth. <br /> The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals issues this Decision pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A §9 and the Town of Mashpee <br /> Zoning By-laws. <br /> Dr. Leach represented his Petition and said that he would like to install a wooden <br /> carved figure on top of the proposed sign. It will exceed the 20-square foot size allowed <br /> in the By-law. The entire sign will be carved out of wood. <br /> Mr. Nelson said that the members of the Design Review Committee were very <br /> impressed with the proposal and agreed that the sign will be decorative and attractive. <br /> No comments were received from abutters. <br />
