Neck , <br /> Road North, Mashpee, Massachusetts at 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, �` + <br /> February 18, 1998 . The Chairman, Patrick Coffey, presided. <br /> Planning Board Members resent: Patrick - ` <br /> p � ck Coffey, Chairman, <br /> Dennis Balzarini Vice .Chairman, John Kuchinski, Clerk, and ,x <br /> Chance Re i chel. �A <br /> k <br /> Also present: F. Thomas F .' <br /> L� udala, Town Planner; and Eric <br /> Smith, Assistant Town Planner. <br /> A quorum being present, the Chairman called. the Meeting to r`" <br /> {� <br /> order. +4, <br /> f. <br /> Discussion #,k <br /> Non-Agenda Item. <br /> PLEASE NOTE: The Consulting Engineer was not present. <br /> The Town Planner informed the Board of a budget issue <br /> ue <br /> brought to his attention by the Finance Committee regarding <br /> j consideration of a position for a full-time Town Engineer. <br /> There was some discussion amongs <br /> Board Members concerning <br /> the recently updated Schedule of Fees, and the Planning Board <br /> work load (both past and current. ) <br /> k <br /> I�til <br /> John Kuchinski commented upon the possibility of an increase <br /> in the number of inspections that could be conducted by a Town <br /> Engineer. <br /> ji�ril M.j <br /> Dennis Balzarini inquired if the Town Engineer would work ;;; <br /> for both the Planning Board and the Department of Public Works; ,+4 w, <br /> to which the Town Planner answered "well, no. He wouldn' t be <br /> working for the Planning Board at all . " <br /> The Town Planner further stated that according to the <br /> way in which the Article was originally created, the person in <br /> this position would work for the Selectmen; but that the DPW ' <br /> Director has informed the Finance Committee the person hired as ( 'j <br /> Engineer for the Town would work for him. <br /> There was brief discussion related to Job Description. The ►,r kr�T� <br /> Chairman inquired as to other Boards/Departments in need of <br /> R i would A==�' engineering services.
