Mashpee Zoning <br />Board of Appeals- Minutes <br />1 September 23, 2009 <br />Zoning Board of Appeals <br />Minutes — Wednesday, September 23, 2009 <br />The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals held a Public Hearing <br />on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the Mashpee Town <br />Hall. Board Members Robert Nelson, Jonathan Furbush, <br />John Dorsey and William Blaisdell were present. Alternate <br />member Peter Hinden was present. Member James Reiffarth <br />was absent. ,I <br />Robert Nelson opened the hearing at 7:00 p.m. <br />. New Public Hearinas ; <br />Stephen and Patricia Bell: Request a Special Permit from Section 174-17 and y <br />174-24(c) of the Zoning By-laws in order to build an addition to a pre-existing <br />non -conforming structure on property located in an R-3 zoning district at 45 <br />Popponessett Island Road (map 106 Parcel 14) Mashpee, MA. <br />Sitting: Robert Nelson, Jonathan Furbush, William Blaisdell, John Dorsey and <br />Peter Hinden. <br />Attorney Kevin Kirrane of Dunning & Kirrane represents the applicant at this <br />hearing. John Slavinsky of Cape & Islands Engineering is also present. The are <br />seeking a Special Permit/Finding of Fact in order that they may build this small <br />addition to be used as office space. The dwelling is a pre-existing non- <br />conforming structure and the portion at issue here sits at 10.6 feet off the lot <br />line. The proposed addition will put the closet corner of the addition to 6.1 off <br />the lot line. Elevation plans have been submitted as well as two letters of <br />support from abutting neighbors. Attorney Kirrane states that the is no <br />consistency in the way the houses are set on the lots therefore this would not <br />make the project any more detrimental to the area. He states the is adequate <br />• parking for the property, the dimentions they are proposing are acceptable and <br />this project will not make the home substantially more detrimental to the <br />
