Mashpee Zoning Mashpee Commons Limited Partnership <br /> Board of Appeals SP-08-05 2 <br /> -it and acting throughout: Robert Nelson, Zella Elizenberry, <br /> Board of Appeals were prese <br /> Jonathan Furbush, James Reiffarth and William Blaisdell. <br /> The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals issues this Decision pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 40A, Section 9, the Town of Mashpee <br /> Zoning By-laws, and conditions numbered 1 and 5 of Special Permit SP-86-04-024. <br /> Mr. Douglas Storrs, Vice President of Mashpee Commons Limited Partnership, <br /> represented the applicant's request for a Modification to an Existing Special Permit. <br /> Condition#5 of the Special Permit, SP-86-04-024, as previously modified, requires the <br /> applicant to request and receive consent from the Zoning Board of Appeals for any <br /> revisions to the original Special Permit. The applicant is petitioning the Board to re- <br /> locate the current post office that resides in building#14 to a new building they are <br /> proposing to build and will refer to as building#22. The new building will consist of the <br /> post office and some retail and office space The Building requires 48 parking spots and <br /> applicant is presenting 57 spaces. The Board discusses parking problems that exist at the <br /> current post office and how difficult it is to access that building, especially for <br /> handicapped people. Mr. Stony informs the Board that the post office will mail boxes <br /> will remain open until 11:00 pin for the convenience of the town. Mr. Storrs also tells <br /> them that the retail will be something softer than William Sonoma. Most deliveries will <br /> occur before 7:00 a.m. Two handicapped spaces must be done within 300 feet of the <br /> front door. Mr. Storrs will dedicate a third van accessible spot as well. This new post <br /> office will greatly benefit the Town of Mashpee since Mashpee has grown exponentially. <br /> After some further discussion, Jonathan Furbush makes a motion to grant the <br /> Modification of the Special Permit. <br /> No comments were received from abutters. <br /> GENERAL FINDINGS <br /> 1. that the subject property is located at 38 Nathan Ellis Highway and consists of <br /> 40.3 acres of land. <br /> SPECIAL PERMIT CRITERIA <br /> Section 9 of Chapter 40A and Section 174-24C of the Mashpee Zoning By-law <br /> require that the permit granting authority determine that the proposed use and <br /> development are consistent with applicable law, rules and regulations;that there will be <br />
