Arthur R. Joia III: Requests a Variance from Section 174-31 of the
Zoning By-laws in order to expand existing living space and relocate
and enlarge existing deck on property located in an R-5 Zoning
District at 48 Cambridge Drive (Map 16 Parcel 88) Mashpee, MA.
Sitting: Robert Nelson, Jonathan Furbush, William Blaisdell, Jack
Dorsey and Peter Hinden.
Arthur Joia represents himself at this hearing. He is seeking a
variance in order to expand current living space and re -arrange and
build a new deck. Mr. Joia was before the Board in 2006 for a
variance but did not complete that addition (a different version) due
to septic placemen issues. The Board notes that he is burdened with
two frontages. Mr. Nelson discusses the fact that at the previous
hearing in 2006 he was asked to remove the circular driveway since
the by -Daws do not allow 2 driveway entrances. Applicant will abide
by this request. The Board notes that the lot coverage will be at
12.76%. The Board reviews the plan and discusses the layout of the
design with Mr. Joia. Jonathan Furbush makes a motion to grant the
following variances:
A 9.2 foot variance on the south side
A 4.7 foot variance on the west side
A 1.9 foot variance on the front (Cambridge Street)
Robert Nelson seconds the motion.
