r .1-14.
Mashpee Zoning
Board of Appeals Minutes
2 October 22, 2008
Sitting: Robert Nelson, James Reiffarth, Jonathan Furbush, William Blaisdell and
to Peter Hinden.
Steven Lake of Bennett Engineering represents the applicant at this hearing. They
are seeking a variance of 20.2 feet for relief to the distance of the wetlands requirement.
The Board reviews the plans and discusses the previous variance that was granted for the
deck to be built. Applicant was informed of the impact on the distance to the coastal
bank, thus the need for variance relief. Conservation has approved this plan. James
Reiffarth makesa motion to grant a 20.2 foot variance to the wetlands. Jonathan Furbush
seconds the motion. All agree. So moved. Plans referenced are from Bennett
Engineering of Sagamore Beach, MA, dated September 26, 2008.
Other Business:
The Board discusses the process of filing decisions and the fact that they are not able to
read the decisions once they sign them. Bob Nelson mentions that he has discussed this
in with Town Counsel. Since there is a limited time frame for the decisions to be filed once
they are heard in front of the Board, it is difficult to find another method to get this done.
They also discuss the Special Permit for Mashpee Commons. Mr. Reiffarth asks when
the actual construction will take place. The Board discusses the economy having a huge
impact on when things will begin.
Robert Nelson makes a motion to accept the minutes as amended from September 24,
2008. Jonathan Furbush seconds the motion. All agree. So moved. .
Robert Nelson makes a motion to adjourn. Jonathan Furbush seconds the motion.
Meeting is adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
Re etfully submitted
Ud b l AON 80.
Lori Corsi
• Office Mgr.
