Owner of Record: Wes Wishman.
Sitting: Robert Nelson, Zella Elizenberry, Marshall Brem, Frederick Borgeson and
Jonathan Furbush.
David Frye represents the applicant at this hearing. They are seeking a variance in order
to add/build an overhang on the building at the old Harwich Concrete Building that
Stonewood Products has taken over. It is a corner lot and they have no plans to enclose
the area under the overhang. The Board wishes to stipulate that it not be enclosed. The
requirement is 75 foot setback and the applicant is looking to have the overhang sit at 69
feet which would require a 6 foot variance. Frederick Borgeson makes a motion to grant
a 6 foot variance to the front of Main Street and Echo Road. Marshall Brem seconds the
motion. All agree. So moved. A roll call vote is taken. Frederick Borgeson votes yes.
Marshall Brem votes yes. Zella Elizenberry votes yes. Jonathan Furbush votes yes.
Robert Nelson votes yes. Variance is conditioned on plans from Cape & Islands
Engineering, dated January 26, 2007.
Lisa Holland — Law Student. Ms. Holland is a law student at Southern New England
School of Law and is doing a project on a mock zoning presentation. She is here to ask
the board how they operate and any tips they can give her on all the aspects of a zoning
application. She gives the history of her project and the Board spends some time giving
her suggestions about the process they use for variance applications as well as special
permit applications.
