Mashpee Zoning Minutes—January 12, 2000 8 <br /> Board of Appeals <br /> Mr. DiPaolo said that he bought the lots the same week in 1965 and he has been the sole <br /> owner since that time. ti►i <br /> Mr. Govoni confirmed that many people were unaware that they were affected by the <br /> change in the By-laws in 1991. fir. <br /> Attorney George Hazel attended the meeting and said that he represented an abutter, <br /> Doorly, who is in opposition to the proposal. Attorney Hazel said that the Variance relief ;! <br /> being sought is substantial. , <br /> Mr. Govoni moved to take the Variances under advisement until February 9, 2000. Mr. <br /> Guerrera seconded. All agreed. <br /> Michael A. Colombo—Requests a Special Permit under Section 174-25.F.2 of the Zoning <br /> By-laws for permission to sell and/or rent automobiles (vans) on property located in a r� <br /> C-2 zoning district at 440 Nathan Ellis Highway(Map 72 Block 87) Mashpee, MA. <br /> (Owner of record: David Simons, TR., Harborview Realty Trust.) <br /> Sitting: Edward M. Govoni, James E. Regan III and Robert G.Nelson. <br /> Mr. Colombo represented his application and stated that he is not looking to establish a <br /> large used-car dealership. He indicated that he wants to supplement his income with the <br /> sale of a few cars and wants permission to display the vehicles for sale on the subject <br /> property. Mr. Colombo stated that he buys vehicles from a wholesale dealer or from <br /> auctions in Boston and the vehicles are taken to either a lot in Easton or Rehoboth. He <br /> indicated that there is plenty of room to park several vehicles in the rear of the property. <br /> Mr. Colombo also said that he will park only one vehicle at a time in the front of the <br /> property and that he will not install any signs advertising sale of vehicles. <br /> r � <br /> The Board members expressed concern with maintenance, repair or servicing being <br /> performed on the vehicles. Mr. Colombo assured the Board that none of those services <br /> would be performed on the subject lot. ' <br /> Mr. Thomas O'Neill attended the meeting and said that he was concerned with the <br /> direction of businesses in Mashpee. Mr. O'Neill said that the escalation of certain kinds <br /> of development in the area of Route 151 has resulted in unattractive clear cutting of the y ,� <br /> lots. <br /> No comments were received from abutters. <br /> Mr. Govoni moved to grant the Special Permit with the following conditions: ;I <br /> 1. that no more than two vehicles for sale shall be parked in the front of the <br /> subject property. .' <br /> 2. that no more than four vehicles for sale shall be parked in the rear of the ` <br /> 3 ' subject property at an one time. <br /> J p p y Y <br /> � T <br /> e'�T <br /> y) <br /> i <br />
