Mashpee Zoning New Seabury Properties, LLC 4 <br /> Board of Appeals SP-00-151 <br /> 11 <br /> Mr. Morgan Peters, a resident at 201 Main Street, stated that he also represented ' <br /> his brother's property at 131 Main Street. He said that the use of the word"dormitory <br /> automatically conotates a transient living"place and objected to a dormitory being moved <br /> into a residential community where people have maintained their homes. Mr. Peters said <br /> that Mashpee is "a segregated Town,that is both economically and ethnically segregated" <br /> and that New Seabury is attempting to move its "transient living situation into this side of <br /> the segregated Town that Mashpee has turned into" and that the proposal would destroy <br /> the residential community. <br /> I <br /> I ;. <br /> Dr. Soliz stated that he has lived in Mashpee for many years and he would never <br /> condone a situation that would be detrimental to the Town. He said that the proposal <br /> would not devalue any neighboring property and that New Seabury Properties is in a i <br /> position to enhance the neighborhood with improvements. <br /> The Board voted unanimously to take the Petition under advisement. j <br /> At approximately 9:00 P.M. on August 23, 2000,the Board proceeded to discuss I; j <br /> the Petition at great length. The Board determined that the Petitioner failed to prove that <br /> such change, extension or alteration shall not be substantially more detrimental than the <br /> existing nonconforming structure or use to the neighborhood. <br /> In view of the foregoing,the Zoning Board of Appeals voted unanimously to <br /> Deny With Prejudice the Petition submitted by New Seabury Properties, LLC. <br /> � i <br /> 10, <br /> i <br /> i <br /> I <br />
