Owners of the motel, Dr. and Mrs. Soliz, ZBA <br /> Vice Chairman James E. Regan, ZBA Associate Member Marshall A. Brem,Attorney <br /> Robert F. Mills, General Manager of New Seabury Properties Michael Vetter, Mashpee <br /> illl <br /> Building Inspector Russell W. Wheeler, Mashpee resident Greg Peters and <br /> Administrative Secretary Cynthia Bartos were present. <br /> Mr. Vetter explained that the motel, 66 and 72 Main Street, consists of four efficiency "° k <br /> apartments (2 bedrooms/1 bath each= 14 beds/4 baths), six motel units and six studio <br /> units for a total of 65 beds. The motel is 32 years old and has been inspected and f <br /> approved for its current operating license. <br /> v�nap,,vf� <br /> Mr. Peters claimed that the owners were approved for an additional six units by the Board <br /> of Health and wondered why it was expanded by nine units without notifying the <br /> abutters. <br /> Attorney Mills submitted a building permit issued in 1990 approving the construction of <br /> nine units. He also submitted a site plan with elevations. '��I��I,. I <br /> sl„luvdi.'' <br /> There is a three-apartment cottage, 78 Main Street, on the premises that is deeded <br /> separately from the motel. The former owner had the apartments constructed in this <br /> cottage for his mother and son. Dr. Soliz confirmed that there are three kitchens in the <br /> cottage. He assured the Board that it would only be rented and used as a single-family or { <br /> a two-family residence. yyy{f��,1.,,,,„;F <br /> IIIPIi� V'I <br /> Mr. Vetter said that New Seabury Properties is attempting to hire professional employees <br /> who are not college-bound in the fall. Mr. Vetter said that weekly, unannounced <br /> inspections of the rooms occupied by New Seabury employees are made. He said that <br /> New Seabury-Properties tolerates no alcohol or parties by its employees on the subject <br /> properties. <br /> Mr. Vetter indicated that the issue of the pool has not been resolved. It may be removed <br /> because of liability or the potential noise factor. <br /> Mr. Peters voiced concern with any changes that would be made by the new owners. <br /> I <br /> Mr. Vetter said that the New Seabury Properties is "not looking for headaches" or to <br /> create major changes in the motel.
