Mashpee Zoning Minutes—March 28, 2001 12
Board of Appeals
The Board approved definition of the use as required by the Special Permit, SP-99-115,
and as described by Attorney Mills to allow for operation of a coffee/donut shop. A
drive-through window on the subject property is not allowed.
Proposed Self-Storage Facility on Route 130
Messrs. Butler, Raleigh and Ojulla informed the Board that the facility would consist of
33,000 square feet on the 3.86-acre site that abuts the Women's Workout Center.
Attorney Butler said that Mr. Stephen Raleigh is the potential buyer of the site. Mr.
Raleigh estimated that plans call for installation of 200 to 300 storage units on the subject
property.
Mr. Raleigh said that studies reveal that an average of 9 cars per day would access the
facility. He said that he has operated a similar facility in another town on the Cape for
over 29 years.
i
Parking required under the Zoning By-law would amount to 119 spaces. The only
Variance that the Petitioner would be seeking would be permission to reduce the required
number of parking spaces to approximately 53 parking spaces. No other Variance from
the setback requirements would be necessary.
Attorney Butler said that the Petitioner is sensitive to the neighbors' concerns and plans
'
I
to enhance the character of the area with his project.
Mr. Ojulla referenced the plan. Cards would be required to enter and exit the facility
through a gate. Freight lifts, an electronic counter and on-site management would be
provided. Hours of operation would be restricted to reasonable hours.
The Technical Review Team is currently reviewing the proposal. The Cape Cod
Commission has jurisdiction on the proposal and has stringent criteria that the Petitioner
must meet.
i
NII_
Accept Minutes of March 14, 2001. Mr. Brem moved to accept the minutes of March 14,
2001. Mr. Regan seconded. All agreed.
Respectfully submitted,
6 r f /
z z
U 'I
Cynthia Bartos
Administrative Secretary
I
i
