Owens SP-01-95 16 Spoondrift Circle Map 111 Parcel 118 A Petition was filed on August 24, 2001 by Peter R. and Carolie D. Owens of Bedford,New Hampshire for a Special Permit under Section 174-17 of the Zoning By-laws for permission to expand a pre-existing, non-conforming structure to allow for construction of a garage and an addition to the structure on property located in an R-3 zoning district at 16 Spoondrift Circle (Map 111 Block 118) Mashpee, MA. ;l Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General j Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on September 21 and September 28, 2001, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. A Public Hearin was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on Hearing p i I ch time the following members of the Zoning Board Wednesday, October 10, 2001, at which g g of Appeals were present and acting throughout: Edward M. Govoni James E. Regan III idi and Robert G. Nelson. The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals issues this Decision pursuant to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A Section 9 and the Town of (i Mashpee Zoning By-laws. Mr. John Slavinsky of Cape & Islands Engineering represented the Petition and ! reminded the Board of the original proposal of that the Petitioner withdrew in August j 2001. At the August Public Hearings, the Board requested that the Petitioner advise the I abutting neighbor at 18 Spoondrift Circle of the proposed construction. Mr. Slavinsky submitted a letter from the abutting neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Brick at 18 Spoondrift Circle, in approval of the proposal. No other comments were received from abutters. Mr. Owens said that he has consulted with each of the immediate neighbors. The neighbors have expressed approval with the proposed renovation of the home since it would be an improvement to the entire neighborhood. Mrs. Owens submitted photos of the existing home and stated that plans call for additions to the sides of the house. She said that the addition would consist of a bedroom and a bath.
