Owens <br /> of Bedford,New Hampshire for a Special Permit under Section 174-17 of the Zoning <br /> By-laws for permission to expand a pre-existing, non-conforming structure to allow for <br /> construction of a garage and an addition to the structure on property located in an R-3 <br /> zoning district at 16 Spoondrift Circle (Map 111 Block 118) Mashpee, MA. ;l <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General j <br /> Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, <br /> a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on September 21 and <br /> September 28, 2001, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearin was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on <br /> Hearing p i <br /> I <br /> ch time the following members of the Zoning Board <br /> Wednesday, October 10, 2001, at which g g <br /> of Appeals were present and acting throughout: Edward M. Govoni James E. Regan III <br /> idi <br /> and Robert G. Nelson. <br /> The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals issues this Decision pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A Section 9 and the Town of (i <br /> Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Mr. John Slavinsky of Cape & Islands Engineering represented the Petition and ! <br /> reminded the Board of the original proposal of that the Petitioner withdrew in August j <br /> 2001. At the August Public Hearings, the Board requested that the Petitioner advise the <br /> I <br /> abutting neighbor at 18 Spoondrift Circle of the proposed construction. Mr. Slavinsky <br /> submitted a letter from the abutting neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Brick at 18 Spoondrift <br /> Circle, in approval of the proposal. No other comments were received from abutters. <br /> The Board of Health and the Conservation Commission have approved the <br /> project. <br /> e nature of the <br /> Mr. Bard and submitted a letter explaining th <br /> . Owens addressed the o p g <br /> proposal. Mr. Owens said that he has consulted with each of the immediate neighbors. <br /> The neighbors have expressed approval with the proposed renovation of the home since it <br /> would be an improvement to the entire neighborhood. <br /> Mrs. Owens submitted photos of the existing home and stated that plans call for <br /> additions to the sides of the house. She said that the addition would consist of a bedroom <br /> and a bath. <br />
