Florence V-99-69 110 Popponesset Island Road <br /> Map 112 Block 4 <br /> A Petition was filed on August 5, 1999 by Eli and Donna M. Florence of <br /> Mashpee, Massachusetts for a Variance from Section 174-25.1.9 of the Zoning <br /> By-laws for permission to exceed the 70-foot pier length limit to allow for construction <br /> of a 134-foot pier, ramp and float on Popponesset Bay on property located in an R-3 <br /> zoning district at 110 Popponesset Island Road(Map 112 Block 4) Mashpee, MA. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General <br /> Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a <br /> newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on August 20 and August 27, <br /> 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on <br /> Wednesday, September 8, 1999, at which time the following members of the Zoning <br /> Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout: Edward M. Govoni, James E. <br /> Regan III and Robert G. Nelson. <br /> This Decision is issued by the Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 40A, Section 10 and the Town of <br /> Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Mr. Jeremy Carter represented the applicants. Mr. Eli Florence also attended the <br /> meeting. Mr. Carter stated that many residences in the area have docks. The Board <br /> received confirmation that the Conservation Commission and the Harbormaster have <br /> approved the project. The project calls for a fixed pier, ramp and floating dock. The <br /> proposed construction will be elevated 5 feet above the mean high water mark to allow <br /> access for the public and to accommodate shellfishing. The proposal exceeds the 70-foot <br /> dock length allowed by the By-laws. The ramp and pier will be permanent structures. <br /> The applicant plans to remove the dock in the winter. <br /> No comments were received from abutters. <br />
