Town of Mashpee <br /> J <br /> 16 Great JVeck Poad JVorth <br /> Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649 <br /> BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> Decision for a Special Permit <br /> RE: Mike's Service Station - SP-98-26 135 Main St. <br /> Map 37 Block 58 <br /> A Petition was filed on February 24, 1998 by Mike's Service Station for a Special <br /> Permit under Section 174-17 of the Zoning By-laws to allow the expansion of a non- <br /> conforming service station with the addition of a U-Haul rental service on property <br /> located in an R-5 zoning district at 135 Main St. (Map 37, Block 58)Mashpee, MA. <br /> (Owner of record: S. Joseph DiMaggio). <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws <br /> Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a newspaper <br /> of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on March 6 and March 13, 1998, a copy of <br /> which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on <br /> Wednesday, March 25, 1998 at 7:30 P.M. at which time the following members of the <br /> Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout: Edward M. Govoni, James E. <br /> Regan III and Richard T. Guerrera. <br /> This Decision is issued by the Mashpee Board of Appeals pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 40A, Section 6 and Section 174-17 of <br /> the Town of Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> S. Joseph DiMaggio represented his petition and informed the Board that his <br /> service station was a pre-existing non-conforming use and that the proposed U-Haul <br /> leasing service was standard at many used car or service station businesses. Comments <br /> were received from abutters concerning the number of vehicles which could be parked on <br /> the lot. <br />
