Town of Mashpee <br /> N 16 Great JVeck P(oad JVorth <br /> Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649 <br /> BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> Decision for a Special Permit <br /> RE: Harwich Concrete Block - SP-97-35 544 Main St. <br /> Map 20 Block 24 <br /> A Petition was filed by Harwich Concrete Block on March 24, 1997 for a Special <br /> r Permit under Sections 174-25.E.8 and 174-51.0 of the Zoning By-laws to allow the <br /> outside storage of building materials and alteration to an existing sign on property located <br /> e <br /> in a C-2 zoning district at 544 Main St. (Map 20, Block 24)Mashpee,MA. (Owner of <br /> record: Christopher S. Cushman, TR. J.W.F. Trust). <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts <br /> General Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, <br /> a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on April 25, 1997 and May 2, <br /> 1997, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on <br /> Wednesday,May 14, 1997 and continued at several meetings to July 23, 1997 at which <br /> times the following members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout: <br /> Edward M. Govoni, James E. Regan III, and Cheryl A. Hawver. <br /> This Decision is issued by the Mashpee Board of Appeals pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 40A, Section 9 and the Town of <br /> Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Cliff Wickstrom represented the application and informed the Board that he had <br /> been delayed in getting signed plans and in Design Review approval for proposed <br /> plantings. These will screen the outside storage of building materials. He also stated that <br /> he planned to repaint the sign. The plans were presented at the July 23, 1997 meeting. <br /> Comments were received from abutters requesting that the noise of truck engines at the <br /> site be controlled and Mr. Wickstrom agreed to have signs requesting trucks to shut off <br /> the engines. There were no objections to the proposed screening. <br />
