Board of Appeals Harwich Concrete Block - SP-97-35 2. <br /> FINDINGS <br /> General <br /> 1. the site is located at 544 Main St. and contains 1.35 square feet. The property <br /> has been improved with a warehouse building constructed in 1982. <br /> 2. the property is zoned C-2 for commercial use <br /> Special Permit Criteria <br /> Section 174-25.E.8 allows for retail sales of building materials stored in the open <br /> provided that all merchandise so stored is screened from ground level view from abutting <br /> streets or property upon grant of a Special Permit from the Board of Appeals. Section <br /> 174-51.C allows for alterations and relocation of existing signs upon approval of the <br /> Board of Appeals. <br /> Specific Findings <br /> I. the applicant has received the approval of the Design Review Committee for <br /> the proposed screening of the site. <br /> 2. the proposed changes in the sign have been approved by the Design Review <br /> Committee. <br /> 3. the Board found that the granting of a Special Permit would not be detrimental <br /> to the Town. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded the Board of Appeals voted unanimously on <br /> July 23, 1997 to grant the Special Permit subject to the following conditions: <br /> 1. the landscaping is to be completed by the end of August and the plantings are <br /> to be 4' - 5' arborvitae planted 5 feet on center or 4' - 5' privet planted 2 feet <br /> on center <br /> 2. the applicant will post a landscape bond of$600 with the Board of Appeals <br /> office. <br /> 3. the permit is conditioned upon compliance with plans of Weller& Associates <br /> dated July 2, 1997. <br /> 1 <br />
