f <br /> I' <br /> 11. The Mashpee Zoning Bylaw, specifically Section 174-55, <br /> provides as follows: <br /> "F. Illuminated signs are permitted, subject to the following <br /> conditions: <br /> 1 (1) No sign shall be intermittently illuminated, internally <br /> illuminated nor of a traveling light, animated or <br /> flashing light type. No exposed neon-type signs shall be <br /> permitted in the Town of Mashpee. <br /> (2) Sign illumination is permitted only between the hours of <br /> 7: 00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. , except that the signs of <br /> commercial or industrial establishments may be <br /> illuminated during any hours that these establishments <br /> are open to the public or in operation. Illuminated <br /> signs on public buildings and land are exempt from this <br /> provision. <br /> G. Illumination. Except as otherwise prohibited herein, <br /> signs may be illuminated by any fixed steady light source <br /> of such nature and in such manner that the brightness of <br /> the sign face does not exceed one hundred (100) lumens <br /> per square foot. Except for non-exposed neon-type signs, <br /> where permitted, such illumination shall be so arranged <br /> that its exterior source is not directly visible from any <br /> way or occupied building, and no illumination shall be of <br /> any color that might be confusing to traffic. Holiday <br /> lights shall not be deemed as coming within the <br /> provisions of this subsection, but this subsection shall <br /> apply to window signs." <br /> 12. Article X, Section 174-49 of the Mashpee Zoning Bylaw provides <br /> as follows: <br /> It is the intent of this Article to protect, conserve and <br /> improve the visual quality of the Town of Mashpee while <br /> providing reasonable regulations and control of the erection <br /> and maintenance of signs and advertising devices without <br /> restricting the conduct of lawful enterprise. <br /> 13 . Article X, Section 174-51 D. of the Mashpee Zoning Bylaw <br /> provides as follows: <br /> New signs exceeding twenty (20) square feet require a special <br /> permit from the Board of Appeals, in accordance with Article <br /> VI. <br /> 3 <br />
