• TOWN OF MASI•IPEE <br />Board of Appeals <br />Minutes - March 22, 1995 <br />The Mashpee Board of Appeals held a meeting on Wednesday, March 22, 1995 at 7:30 <br />P.M. at the Mashpee Town Hall. Board members present and acting throughout were <br />Edward M. Govoni, Cheryl A. Hawver, Kenneth E. Marsters and Robert G. Nelson. <br />Board members absent were: John J. Friel, James E. Regan III and Arnold D. Mindick. <br />Diane Cloutier TR. - Requests a Special Permit under Sections 174-17 and 174-55 of the <br />Zoning By-laws for a dog grooming business and additional signage on property located in <br />a C-2 zoning district at 470 Main St. (Map 27, Block 21) Mashpee, MA. The proposed <br />business will be located at the rear of the Flower `n Fern Florist Shop in the Davy's <br />Locker Restaurant building. <br />Members sitting: E. Govoni, C. Hawver, R. Nelson <br />Diana Cloutier explained that they will be using the same size sign but changing the <br />lettering to include Tail Waggers, the dog grooming business. Mr. Govoni said that one <br />of the Board members had noted that there was a Stop Work order on the florist business. <br />Ms. Cloutier said a previous electrician could not complete the work on the refrigeration <br />and she had changed to another electrician who has now been licensed. She said the Stop <br />• Work order has now been removed. Mr. Nelson asked if the Building Inspector had <br />approved a large sign in the window of the proposed dog grooming business. Ms. <br />Cloutier said she was not aware that she needed a permit for this and it would be removed <br />when the store opened. <br />K. McCarthy, an abutter, asked if animals would be boarded overnight and Ms. Cloutier <br />said they would not and that the average stay for an animal is about three hours. Ms. <br />McCarthy asked how late the business would operate and Ms. Cloutier said 5 P.M. <br />Mr. Govoni moved to grant the Special Permit with the condition that no animals be <br />boarded overnight and that the temporary sign be removed and the permanent sign be no <br />larger than that approved by the Design Review Committee. Ms. Hawver seconded. All <br />agreed. <br />Thomas W. Brooks Jr. - Requests a Special Permit under Sections 174-17 and 174-25.H.E <br />of the Zoning By-laws to allow the expansion of a garage. The Building Inspector has <br />recommended the transfer of living space from an existing cottage to a garage on property <br />located in an R-5 zoning district at 15 Sturgis Lane (Map 20, Block 27) Mashpee, MA. <br />Members sitting: E.
