May 3 , 1990 <br /> Page 11 <br /> Conclusions and Recomaedations <br /> The subject parcel that is currently occupied by the Little <br /> River Boat Yard has been operated as a boat yard since the <br /> early 1900ts . Site inspections indicated that approximately <br /> 85 boats are stored , maintained , and serviced throughout the <br /> year . The only hazardous materials noted during the walkover <br /> consisted of automotive fluids and waste oil which were <br /> properly. stored and disposed. The exterior grounds were well <br /> maintained with no evidence of soil staining observed. <br /> Research at the Mashpee Town Hall indicated that there were <br /> no records of spills , complaints or other environmental <br /> incidents associated with the subject site . Records at the <br /> local fire department indicate that permits for two <br /> underground storage tanks ( 1000 and 500 gallon) are on file <br /> for the subject site . This is in contrast to the single 1000 <br /> gallon unleaded gasoline storage tank observed during the <br /> site walkover inspection . When questioned as to the <br /> existence of the 500 gallon tank , the current property owner <br /> replied that he is only aware of the existing 1000 gallon <br /> I� <br /> tank . He did me.ntion that a 500 gallon tank used to store <br /> kerosene for the single family residence was removed about 12 <br /> years . ago . The discrepancy between the Fire Department <br /> records and the actual number of tanks currently deployed at <br /> the subject site probably occurred when the kerosene tank was <br /> removed without canceling its permit . No evidence of a <br />
