MASHPEE COMMUNITY GARDEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MCGAC) <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />December 15, 2021 7:00 P.M. <br />Popponesset Room -- Town 6I <br />PRESENT: Virginia Scharfenberg, Lynn Harris, John Carter, Frank Gallello <br />CALLTO ORDER Chairwoman Scharfenberg called the meeting to order at 7:08pm. <br />Meeting Minutes for March 17, 2021; October 20, 2021; November 17, 2021 <br />Mr. Gallello motioned to approve the March 17, 2021 minutes. <br />Ms. Harris seconded. <br />Vote: 3-0-0 Unanimous <br />Ms. Harris motioned to approve the October 20, 2021 minutes with amendments. <br />Mr. Gallello seconded. <br />Vote: 3-0-0 Unanimous <br />November 17, 2021 minutes -Tabled <br />COMMUNICATIONS and CORRESPONDENCE <br />REPORTS <br />Community Preservation Actfunding proposal for expanded community garden: CPC <br />hearing on Dec. 2, 2021 and January 6, 2022 CPC meeting where final decision will be made <br />Ms. Scharfenberg will attend the January 6, 2022 CPC meeting. <br />Garden beds seasonal closure, clean-ups and fall/winter production requests <br />Ms. Scharfenberg will contact the gardeners about proper clean up/closure of the beds. <br />Wait Lists status for 2022 season <br />The Committee discussed calling the current gardeners to see who is planning to renew their <br />garden beds. Once there is a better idea of what is available, they will contact applicants on <br />the waiting list. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Compost bins and maintenance/use/appearance of area behind them <br />Ms. Harris spoke about the general upkeep of the garden, specifically the compost bins and <br />the area behind them. The Committee agreed that that area is unkempt and needs to be <br />cleaned up before the 2022 season. They will table any further discussion until more members <br />are present. <br />Update for community garden application forms for 2022 on MCGAC town web site <br />Ms. Scharfenberg said she reached out to Terrie Cook at Town Hall to update the website, it <br />has not yet been updated. The due date for current gardeners planning to renew their beds is <br />March 1, 2022. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />
