Minutes Mashpee Waterways Commission <br /> Mashoee Town Hall <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> Date: 4/12/2022 <br /> Chairman Ken Bates convened the meeting at 9:01 from the Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> Attendees: Ken Bates &Don MacDonald in person. Al Wickel and Dick Noonan via Zoom and <br /> conference call. Also present: Ashley Fisher, John Santangelo Acting Harbormaster and Chris <br /> Avis, Assistant Harbormaster. <br /> Absent: Steve Mone, Gregg Fraser and Tim Leedham <br /> Minutes: <br /> The Following minutes were approved:The regular session of Tuesday March 8,2M. <br /> Motion-to-Approve: made by Dick-Noonan,_Seconded_by Al Wickel.-Unanimously approved_by <br /> all present as recorded from roll call: Al Wickel - approved, Dick Noonan approved and Ken <br /> Bates approved. <br /> Appointments &Information Sessions; <br /> Nothing to Report <br /> Communications &Correspondence: <br /> No correspondence received <br /> Old Business:. <br /> Harbormaster Report: Ashley reported that the Harbormaster's office has begun putting marks <br /> out into the water. They started with Poppy Bay and will continue rolling out over the next 2 <br /> weeks. They will also be starting the reinstallation of the docks shortly.The Office has also <br /> been checking channel depths and data to date all looks good. <br /> Ashley reported that they have interviewed 6 candidates for the Harbormaster posting and all 6 <br /> will progress to further testing. Ashly also noted that they are not getting enough applications <br /> for Assistant Harbormaster jobs and is happy for a referral if we know someone 18 years or <br /> older who may want to apply. <br /> Also reported was that all dinghies have been removed from the Seconsett Causeway. <br /> Construction of the new guardrail and railing/posts for dinghy tie up which will be able to <br /> accommodate up to 60 dinghies. <br /> The dinghy racks for Ockway Bay will be reinstalled as soon as the ramp work has been <br /> completed. <br /> DNR Director/Shellfish Constable Report: Ashley reported that the Ockway Boat Ramp has <br /> been selected for study by the Preservation of Cape Cod Commission for the effects of storm <br /> water runoff. Unfortunately, our freshwater ponds were not chosen to be scored. Our <br /> freshwater ramps are in very poor shape. <br /> Ashly noted that DNR will be putting forward a new rule restricting all power boats from Santuit <br /> Pond at the October Town Meeting. The pond is too shallow, and the prop wash is disturbing <br />
