On page two under Old Business, the
diversity project's third line should read "an award" not "as award". Under Race Amity Day he
would like to clarify that he and Ms. Hicks will Co- Chair the subcommittee. Lastly, the
Donovans does not require an apostrophe. All corrections were made.
Chairwoman also commented on the last page regarding the Land Acknowledgement, it
should read that a member of the Tribe should not make the Land Acknowledgment.
Correction made.
MOTION:
Mr. Kupferman made a motion to approve the meeting minutes from March 15, 2022 with
aforementioned edits. Seconded by Mr. Fand. All in favor.
MEMBER UPDATES
1. Column — Dan Kupferman
The column for April will be released Friday. There are three noteworthy holidays in April:
Easter, Passover, and Ramadan. They don't usually overlap due to lunar and solar
schedule. He ended his piece with Autism Awareness Month. Part of inclusion is
acknowledging and recognizing. He is kept on his toes with so many different notable
holidays. He would hate to omit a group or a day. The Committee should come up with
some sort of calendar on the website, as there are so many days and months that
acknowledge different groups.
Ms. Stevenson would love to have someone research all acknowledgment days and be
ahead of the game. She noted when school gets out Jayden and Amna could devise a
calendar.
Mr. Kupferman stated with the Committee's two big events coming up he will focus on the
Who We Are project and Race Amity Day. He will have to get it done in time to be able to
promote the immigration project.
2. Coalition —J. Marie Stevenson
Chairwoman explained in a little more detail for new members how the Coalition is a larger
group of diversity and inclusion committees across the Cape and South Shore. There is a
new one in Sandwich.
2
