Minutes Mashpee Waterways Com m ission <br />Mashpee Town Hall <br />16 Great Neck Road North <br />Mashpee, MA 02649 <br />Date: 12/14/2021 <br />Chairman Ken Bates convened the meeting at 9:OOam in the Waquoit Meeting Room <br />Attendees: Ken Bates, Don MacDonald, Gregg Fraser, Dick Noonan, Steve Mone (via phone). <br />Also present: Ashley Fisher, Jeff Smith <br />Absent: Al Wickel, Tim Leedham <br />Minutes: <br />The minutes from the regular session of Tuesday November9, 2021 were not approved as we <br />did not have a quorum of those who attended the November meeting present. November <br />meeting minutes will be taken up for a vote at our next regular meeting in January. <br />Appointments & Information Sessions: <br />An update on the Ockway Bay Boat Ramp was provided by Ashley in this slot and the pertinent <br />minutes are covered below under "Public Access" <br />Communications & Correspondence: <br />Ken noted that he had received internal communications from Jeff Smith regarding the Harbor <br />Management Plan and Gregg Fraser regarding Falmouth mooring pricing. No communications <br />from the public have been received since last month. <br />Old Business: <br />Harbormaster Report: Jeff reported that they have finished extensive maintenance on the safety <br />boat and it currently looks "like new". He also reported that the expected lead time of 2 years for <br />the new boat that was ordered has been reduced by about a year and the boat will now be <br />delivered to their office June `22. The boat should be fitted out and training completed in time for <br />it to be on patrol by the fall of `22. <br />He reported that all winter sticks in the water look good. The staff have spent time clearing the <br />waterways of debris resulting from storms and wind. <br />Lastly, he is still awaiting the post dredge survey from the dredging of the 1916 channel. Ken <br />stated that he does not have a copy with him but will get Jeff the figures. Jeff will follow up with <br />the County on the status. <br />Salt & Fresh Water Bodies: <br />Waquoit Bay: No Report <br />Popponesset Bay Area: No Repoort <br />DNR Director/Shellfish Constable Report: Ashley reported that she is working to provide <br />information on ramp replacement projects to the Association for the Preservation of Cape Cod. <br />
