The whitings and Quashnet neighborhoods will be
back before the Board in 30-60 days.
DISCUSSION
Christina Dierker from the Cape Cod Commission to discuss the
Planning Board's responsibilities as the local planning commIttew ;
She stated that their secondary role is to consult with the
Commission on development of the regional plan.
The Commission would like feedback from the local planning
committees on the issue papers that have been distributed while
they are developing statements and policies.
They have scheduled 4 public meetings and would like the members to
attend a least one of these meetings to represent the Town of
Mashpee.
Tony asked why the meetings were scheduled at 1:00 in the
afternoon? It is almost impossible for a working person to attend.
they expect public involvement and input but the public needs a
fair chance to attend.
Ms. Dierker will discuss this with the woman who scheduled these
meetings. She explained that the Commission was having a hard time
finding meeting space.
Judy asked what is expected of the Local Planning Committee?
Ms. Dierker stated that right now they just want feed back on the
issue papers.
By February the policy statements will be in final form and will be
presented at public meetings around the Cape.
Pat asked what her opinion was on double tracking, should the LPC
be gathering information at this time while a regional policy is
being developed?
Ms. Dierker responded that it is a great times to start gathering
data and they could use the categories described in the me.-:.o ( as
- 1 --
