There was a letter from Greg Taylor, DPW Director explaining he
met with the applicant and presented a sketch proposal regarding
re-location of lot 4.
The applicant is not interested in making any changes to the
plan.
Mrs. Antunes presented a letter to the Board regarding the safety
concerns at that intersection from the Police Department. The
letter stated that from their statistics there are not
traffic/safety flaw problems at that intersection.
Mrs. Antunes requested a copy of the petitions she had previously
presented to the Board and the letter from Town counsel.
Wayne stated at the last meeting they were one vote short of
approving this plan, has either of the Board members changed
their minds based on this information?
Spyro stated that he would like to hear any further Board
comments and any Public input before casting his vote.
Public Questions or comments.
A resident of Mashpee Neck Road stated that she is opposed to the
re-alignment. People go too fast now and this Will make it
faster. Now people must slow dawn to go around the corner.
Mr. Steve Greelish was present and commenting from two
perspectives , as a resident and taxpayer of Mashpee and as a
member of the Board of Health. The Board of Health did review
this subdivision plan earlier in regard to the test wells. At
that time it was their feeling the Planning Board approved of
what was being presented, everything was satisfactory as
presented.
To come to Mrs . Antunes with the idea of taking the road is
inappropriate, they are not dealing with a large developer but
with an individual lot owner who wants to subdivide for members
of her own family and he would ask the Board to approve the plan.
Mr. Baker was present and he feels the same way as at the last
meeting. As a year round resident and taxpayer of Mashpee he
puts his full support behind Mrs. Antunes
Marie Scalley was present. She supports Mrs. Antunes 100%. She
sent a letter to the Planning Board stating her support. Mr. and
Mrs_ Antunes worked very hard to acquire land to give to their
children.
Mr. Joe DiMaggio stated that he owns all the school buses in
Town. They have a stop at that intersection and this re-
alignment would make it more dangerous.
4
