" ry,VMoll(Mfla%Ml
Vashyee Afforda6Ce Housing Committee
.......................... ._._.-._...,...x.. ..w_..._.........._.w.................M.M.Mmmmmmm.........._..._.— ..
16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA 02649
Mr. Isbitz noted it is possible to make an affordable unit on the SHI with this. He would like to
know if there is an incentive for the homeowner if it maintained affordability for a minimum of 15
years or something.
Mr. Lehrer commented if you have the square footage in an existing building it is more
feasible.
Mr. Isbitz does not expect much affordable housing to come out of this. The town appropriately
did not make this a requirement but an option. There are vouchers available for section 8, the
rents could be considerable and help pay for the ADU loan. Duel programs would be financially
attractive. There should be publicity about this.
Mr. Lehrer stated the number one benefit is increasing the rental housing stock. He doesn't
think ADUs are where you find AMI or deed restricted. The rental market is really underserved.
The cost of bringing one onto the market needs to be thought about.
PUBLIC COMMENT
There was no Public Comment this evening.
ADJOURNMENT
MOTION:
It was moved by Mr. Willard to adjourn the meeting of the Affordable Housing
Committee at 7:31 p.m. Motion seconded by Mr. Richardson. All in favor.
The meeting ended at 7:31p.m.
Next Meeting: Tuesday, March 08, 2022 6:30PM
Res6
pe ully Su mi ed,
Chri tine ()naI
Board Secretary
