13 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> January 6, 2022 <br /> Catherine Laurent; <br /> Application: Multi-Purpose Track &Field Stadium Renovation- $1,709,400: (continued) <br /> CPC member and Finance Director Dawn Thayer indicated there is a significant amount of <br /> funding in the CPA Reserves. The vote of the CPC could also be contingent upon approval of <br /> the project by the Capital Improvement Program Committee. <br /> Supporters of the Multi-Purpose Track & Field Stadium Renovation project attended the virtual <br /> meeting. Several spoke in support. This includes comments from Patrick Merrick stating <br /> Mashpee has had a lot of championship teams and is deserving of anew field. <br /> Ed Furtek indicated this is not a frivolous expenditure. This project is necessary and much <br /> needed. As an example, there are 6 soccer teams requiring field play. There are only 2 playing <br /> fields. If one field is impacted by a storm there is no place for the students to practice or play. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Hyde to approve and recommend to the May 2022 Special Town <br /> Meeting the Multi-Purpose Track& Field Stadium Renovation project in the amount of <br /> $1,709,400 with funding to derive from the CPA Uncommitted Fund Balance for this <br /> purpose. <br /> Motion seconded by Ms. Russell. <br /> VOTE: 8-1. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Mr. Gottlieb, yes Mrs. Thayer,yes Mr. Hyde, yes <br /> Mr. Larkin, yes Ms. Waygan,yes Ms. Barbee, yes Mr. Shackett, yes <br /> Mr. Smith yes Ms. Russell, no Opposed, (1) <br /> NEXT MEETING <br /> Topics for the next meeting to be announced include but are not limited to the; <br /> Annual Public Hearing on the needs,possibilities and resources of the Town regarding <br /> Community Preservation, the continued review of the CPC Plan, direction of the CPC,financial <br /> projections, the securing of comments for the Plan, and priority setting. <br /> The deadline for applications to be funded at the October 2022 Town Meeting is April 1, 2022. <br />
