Minutes Mashpee Waterways Commission <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> Date: 7/12/2022 <br /> Chairman Ken Bates convened the meeting at 9:02am in the Waquoit Meeting Room. <br /> Attendees: Ken Bates, Don MacDonald, Tim Leedham, Steve Mone, Gregg Fraser, Dick <br /> Noonan. Also present: Ashley Fisher, Donovan McElligatt, John Santangelo and Robert <br /> Tomiano <br /> Absent: Al Wickel <br /> Minutes: <br /> The following minutes were approved: The regular session of Tuesday 6/14/22. <br /> Motion to approve made by Don MacDonald and seconded by Dick Noonan. Unanimously <br /> approved by all present: Ken Bates: yes, Don MacDonald: yes, Dick Noonan: yes, Steve Mone: <br /> yes, Gregg Fraser: yes. (Tim Leedham was not at the last meeting and therefore abstained) <br /> Appointments & Information Sessions: <br /> MWQ-mQrqpniz ti n f r n xt e r- rt ul 1 2022 t 2 <br /> The topic of setting the organization for the next year was introduced. Ken Bates made a <br /> motion to present the same slate of Officers as this past year for the upcoming year. At this <br /> time Don MacDonald announced that he was resigning from the Commission and September <br /> would be his last meeting after this season's water sampling project was completed. Following <br /> this announcement Gregg introduced a slate that consisted of Steve Mone, Chair, Ken Bates, <br /> Vice Chair and Dick a Noonan, Secretary. <br /> Tim then requested that the Commission discuss when we would hold our meetings as this <br /> may impact the slate of officers. Gregg Fraser made a motion to discuss and vote on meeting <br /> times. It was seconded by Tim Leedham and unanimously approved by all present: Dick <br /> Noonan: yes, Don MacDonald: abstained, Gregg Fraser: yes, Steve Mone: yes, Tim Leedham: <br /> yes and Ken: yes <br /> A discussion ensued about the reasons for switching from our traditional day time MWC <br /> schedule to an evening meeting schedule. Some members have daytime jobs thus day MWC <br /> meetings are difficult for them. Evening meetings would be easier for some MWC members, <br /> and make it easier for the public to attend. Some evening meetings are presently held by other <br /> commissions/committees. Ken Bates noted he could not make evening meetings. <br /> Following the discussion Ken Bates requested a motion to switch to evening meetings. A <br /> Motion to approve the change to evening meetings was made by Gregg Fraser, seconded by <br />
