Mr. Balzarini
suggested the CPC when considering open space parcels set aside a certain amount of accessible
land suitable for affordable housing. This may be of value to entice developers to build
affordable housing, not just projects that fall under the mandates of Chapter 40B. There is a dire
need for young adults to secure housing as many cannot afford to build or purchase a home in
today's economy.
It was agreed there is concern. CPA monies can be utilized to build a home that would be
required to be restricted in terms of affordability. However, the task of the Community
Preservation Committee is to respond to the needs. The CPC does not implement projects.
MINUTES
y 2022 Thursda ,$eptem er 1 w ww..
Mr. Larkin requested the minutes of Thursday, September 1, 2022 be amended to reflect on page
7,under Vote to Expend CPA Administrative Funds to conduct an Independent Appraisal of 751
Main Street,Mashpee.
