5 Community Preservation Committee Minutes October 6, 2022 APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS Public Hearing-v PublicInformational Meeting on the Needs,Possibilitiesmand„Resources of the Town of Mashpee as they relate to Historic Preservation,Recreation Affordable Housing,and Open Space: (continued) In considering the joint meeting with the Planning Board it was recommended the CPC meet with the Conservation Commission as well to further review open space,what is municipal owned and what is undeveloped to formulate a plan while focusing on affordable housing needs. It was noted that several departments are working diligently to modify the Local Comprehensive Plan. An updated LCP is beneficial to determine the needs and it is a requirement when applying for grant funding. The CPA recently awarded the Planning Department$50,000 in CPA funding to develop a Housing Production Plan. Funds were awarded at the May 2022 Special Town Meeting. The project has not entered the bidding stage do date. Being no further comment the CPC motioned as follows; Motion made by Mr. Larkin to close the Public Hearing. Motion seconded by Mr. Smith. VOTE: Unanimous. 8-0. Roll Call Vote: Ms.Russell, yes Mrs. Thayer, yes Mr. Larkin,yes Ms.Waygan,yes Mr.Weeden,yes Ms.Barbee,yes Mr. Smith,yes Mr. Klein,yes Opposed,none Review of Available Account Balances: When considering available account balances for the May 2023 Town Meeting,including the 10%reserves; $157,445 in each of the three categories and budgeted for appropriation reserve; $1,062,107 to be voted upon at the October 2022 Town Meeting the available balances are as follows for the following specific purposes; Open Space/Recreation Reserve: $730,270 Affordable Housing Reserve: $422,164 Historic Purposes Reserve: $729,083 Budgeted for Appropriation Reserve: $1,062,107
