II Mashpee Select Board Minutes October 3, 2022 COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE ComMunityPreservation Committee: Public Hearing, Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 6:30 pm - Main Meeting Room - Mashpee Senior Center NEW BUSINESS Town Mana per Discussion Relative to Bowdoin Road: Town Manager Rodney C. Collins informed the Select Board of a public safety hazard related to Bowdoin Road that was brought to his attention by the Director of Public Works. Trucks, tractor trailers, and boat trailers are constantly parked on either side of the road which is causing vehicle congestion and marred conditions to the asphalt paving. As a result, catch basins are failing causing stormwater runoff impairing the road owned and maintained by the Town of Mashpee. There is also a dumpster located within the road layout. In concern the Select Board directed the Town Manager to require the dumpster be removed immediately from Bowdoin Road as well as the following action; Motion made by Selectman Cotton to schedule a Public Hearing on the matter of Bowdoin Road on Monday, November 7, 2022 at a time to be determined. Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. Roll Call Vote: Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman, yes Opposed, none Town Manaer,Discussion Relative to Harbor Management Committee: Discussion and Amy of Re estrablishiiq a Harbor Manage Committee At the last meeting the Select Board considered the recommendation of the DNR Director to form a Harbor Management Committee to formulate an updated Harbor Management Plan There was a question regarding the makeup of the committee and if the At -Large members were duly advertised. After further review it was realized this committee was formed by the Town of Mashpee in the 1990's, however, the committee has been inactive. Town Manager Rodney C. Collins thus recommended the Select Board re- establish the Harbor Management Committee. The committee makeup is comprised of (9) Town of Mashpee staff members consisting of (1) of the following; Select Board member/liaison, DNR Director, the Harbormaster, Shellfish Constable, a member of the Waterways Commission, the Conservation Agent, a Shellfish Commissioner, a representative from the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe and the Town Planner. No advertisement is necessary for the committee re-establishment. Motion made by Selectman Cotton to re-establish the Harbor Management Committee with the composition of Town of Mashpee staff members as defined. Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara.
