II <br />Mashpee Select Board <br />Minutes <br />October 3, 2022 <br />COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE <br />ComMunityPreservation Committee: <br />Public Hearing, Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 6:30 pm - Main Meeting Room - Mashpee Senior Center <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Town Mana per Discussion Relative to Bowdoin Road: <br />Town Manager Rodney C. Collins informed the Select Board of a public safety hazard related to Bowdoin Road <br />that was brought to his attention by the Director of Public Works. Trucks, tractor trailers, and boat trailers are <br />constantly parked on either side of the road which is causing vehicle congestion and marred conditions to the <br />asphalt paving. As a result, catch basins are failing causing stormwater runoff impairing the road owned and <br />maintained by the Town of Mashpee. There is also a dumpster located within the road layout. In concern the <br />Select Board directed the Town Manager to require the dumpster be removed immediately from Bowdoin Road <br />as well as the following action; <br />Motion made by Selectman Cotton to schedule a Public Hearing on the matter of Bowdoin Road on <br />Monday, November 7, 2022 at a time to be determined. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes <br />Selectman Sherman, yes Opposed, none <br />Town Manaer,Discussion Relative to Harbor Management Committee: <br />Discussion and Amy of Re estrablishiiq a Harbor Manage Committee <br />At the last meeting the Select Board considered the recommendation of the DNR Director to form a Harbor <br />Management Committee to formulate an updated Harbor Management Plan There was a question regarding the <br />makeup of the committee and if the At -Large members were duly advertised. <br />After further review it was realized this committee was formed by the Town of Mashpee in the 1990's, however, <br />the committee has been inactive. Town Manager Rodney C. Collins thus recommended the Select Board re- <br />establish the Harbor Management Committee. <br />The committee makeup is comprised of (9) Town of Mashpee staff members consisting of (1) of the following; <br />Select Board member/liaison, DNR Director, the Harbormaster, Shellfish Constable, a member of the Waterways <br />Commission, the Conservation Agent, a Shellfish Commissioner, a representative from the Mashpee <br />Wampanoag Tribe and the Town Planner. No advertisement is necessary for the committee re-establishment. <br />Motion made by Selectman Cotton to re-establish the Harbor Management Committee with the <br />composition of Town of Mashpee staff members as defined. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes <br />Selectman Sherman, yes Opposed, none <br />
