16 Great beck Road North <br /> ,N as tepee, MA 02649 <br /> " Telephone - (508) 539-1433 <br /> ano <br /> MASIIPEE HISTORICAL COMISSION <br /> Minutes of Meeting— September 1, 2022 <br /> Mashpee Historical Commission Meeting was called to order by Ava Costello at <br /> 4:05pm. <br /> Commissioners Present: Ava Costello, Richard DeSorgher, Brian Hyde, and Nancy <br /> Soderberg. Rosemary Burns Love, Joan Tavares-Avant, and Brian Weeden were not <br /> present. <br /> Commissioner Reports <br /> Richard began with an email from Catherine Laurent who had responded to all the <br /> requests he has made from her. Catherine said that she would be receiving the <br /> monument'dimensional drawings within another two weeks. These are just the design <br /> of the monument stone only, which will have to be approved by us. After that, the <br /> design firm will proceed with the design of the artwork and the engraving of the names.. <br /> Brian Hyde made a motion that Richard be appointed to approve the final design of the <br /> monument. Ava seconded the motion, and it was approved unanimously. <br /> Lakewood Cemetery <br /> The DPW has completed a survey and marked the area. Catherine has met with the <br /> neighbors and their HOA who would like to see fewer trees removed, but the person <br /> Catherine had to mark the trees has said that they should all be removed. There is one <br /> homeowner who has been using some of the land that belongs to the cemetery. We <br /> have to decide whether or not to fence in the existing area, or if the cemetery can still be <br /> used, we would fence in a larger area. <br /> Schoolhouse <br /> The AC unit has been installed and is working well —to rave reviews. Richard would <br /> like to have the exhaust pipes painted to match the shingles. Catherine says that she is <br /> planning to plant native shrubs to screen the outside unit. Richard has offered to water <br /> them until they get established. <br /> Catherine is still looking for two Adirondack chairs in the dark blue color. So far, the <br /> Shed Place has not had a resupply of them. <br /> Richard informed us that Mark Rosbach will be able to assist in the project to build the <br />
